Potential Exploration Success in Otway Basin Could Be Transformational for Amplitude Energy, 3D Energi, Euroz Hartleys Says

For Beach Energy (ASX:BPT), potential exploration success in the Otway Basin in offshore Victoria would be incremental but meaningful, but for Amplitude Energy (ASX:AEL) and 3D Energi (ASX:TDO), it might be transformational, Euroz Hartleys said in a report on Tuesday.

The firms are part of three different joint ventures that control the acreage in the basin. Beach Energy's exploration success would provide backfill volumes to the Otway gas plant, operating below nameplate.

Over AU$1 billion of investment is expected in the Otway Basin over the next two years, representing one of the largest offshore exploration and development programs in Australia. The infrastructure-linked exploration is happening against the backdrop of projected gas shortfalls in supply for Australia's east coast market.

The investment firm has a buy recommendation and a price target of AU$1.33 per share for Beach Energy. It has a buy recommendation for Amplitude Energy and a price target of AU$0.40 per share. It set a speculative buy recommendation and a price target of AU$0.24 per share for 3D Energi.
