Saab Unlikely to Keep Up With Peers in Europe's Defense Boom -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Yesterday

1000 GMT - Saab's lower exposure to European defense budgets could see it lag peers, Barclays analysts say in a research note. The Swedish defense company has very low exposure to Germany, which is expected to have the fastest growing European defense budget, the analysts say. Saab is also smaller in scale than peers like Rheinmetall or Leonardo, and too reliant on Sweden and the Nordics, which have stable but limited budget growth, they note. Saab delivers world-class products in its Dynamics and Surveillance businesses, but that is already fully reflected in the shares, the analysts add. Shares are down 4.7% at 497.50 kronor.
