Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) bought back 540,568 shares in London on Monday at an average price of 13.8279 pounds sterling apiece, a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing said.
The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have over 2.3 billion shares in issue.
