Energy stocks were rising pre-bell Monday, with The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 0.6%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 1.4% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 4.9%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.8% higher at $62.98 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.9% to reach $66.72 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 3.4% at $3.15 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Kodiak Gas Services (KGS) shares were down more than 3% after the company said Frontier TopCo Partnership will sell 10 million of its common shares in an underwritten public offering.
Ecopetrol (EC) shares were 0.6% higher after the company said it entered into a confidentiality agreement with Canadian gas producer Canacol Energy in late August to "facilitate the exchange of information."
Antero Midstream (AM) shares were up 0.6% after the company said it plans to sell $500 million of senior unsecured notes due 2033 through a private placement.
