0819 GMT - The Philippine peso is likely to continue underperforming regional currencies, HSBC FX Research says. The USD/PHP's path will hinge on the broad dollar direction, but hopes that the peso could benefit from U.S. import redirection are fading as its tariff edge versus peers disappears, they say. The Philippine central bank is also less likely to defend the peso aggressively. "We see room to replenish FX reserves, with rising risks for exports, well-behaved inflation, and an overvalued PHP," HSBC says. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
