Dongjiang Environmental Co. (HKG:0895) has received a first-instance judgment in a contractual dispute with Jiangxi Environmental Protection, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.
The court ordered the firm and two co-defendants to pay a combined 94.7 million yuan, the filing said.
Shares of the company were down nearly 3% in Tuesday morning trade.
The judgment covers 85.9 million yuan in environmental pollution investigation, risk assessment, and remediation costs, plus 7.2 million yuan in interest, along with 1.1 million yuan in personnel and travel expenses.
Dongjiang said part of the funds in its designated fundraising account remain frozen, but stressed this has no material impact on project funding or daily operations. It is seeking a release of the funds.
It noted that the ruling remains subject to appeal, and its financial impact for the year ending Dec. 31 is uncertain.
