Singapore shares slightly recovered on Wednesday to end flat, while regional markets remained mixed, showing cautious movements amid US President Donald Trump's move to terminate a US Federal Reserve governor over mortgage fraud claims.
The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 4,227.44 and 4,252.43 throughout the day. It ended the session at 4,245.57, up 1.86 points or 0.04% compared to Tuesday's close.
JMH USD up over 3%; Riverstone, Venture, Frasers Property, Keppel up around 1%; SingPost, Seatrium up about 2%.
In company news, shares of Advanced Holdings surged over 9% at the close as controlling shareholder, Wong Kar King, sold 17 million shares in the company to Asia Agri Renewable Fund.
TOTM Technologies was up nearly 4% as it allotted and issued 135 million placement shares worth SG$3.2 million.
Meanwhile, Noel Gifts International's attributable profit to owners in the second half ended June 30 dropped to SG$1.3 million from SG$14.7 million a year earlier.
