Technology stocks were leaning lower premarket Monday, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) declining by 0.4% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) down 2%.
Verint Systems (VRNT) confirmed on Monday that it has agreed to be acquired by private-equity firm Thoma Bravo for $20.50 per share in cash, or an enterprise value of $2 billion. Verint shares were down 1.6% premarket.
Huya (HUYA) shares were up 2.6% after the Chinese video game streaming site said it has formed a partnership with Kingsoft Shiyou to co-publish the mobile version of Kingsoft's "Goose Goose Duck" social deduction game in mainland China.
Intel (INTC) shares were up 2.3% after the struggling chipmaker said the US government would acquire an $8.9 billion investment in the company as part of a deal with the Trump administration.
