Walt Disney (DIS)-owned ESPN is likely to acquire Major League Baseball's MLB.TV as the league plans major changes to its television and streaming rights deal as it nears the expiry of its current agreement with ESPN, Cord Cutters News reported Wednesday, citing industry sources.

ESPN's potential deal with MLB's out-of-market streaming service comes as the league is mulling multiple agreements involving traditional broadcasters and streaming platforms, including Netflix (NFLX), according to the report.

The deal overhaul will end MLB's partnership with Apple (AAPL) TV+, the media outlet noted.

ESPN and Walt Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
