Samsonite International's H1 Profit Falls 30% Year-on-Year; Shares Up 6%

Samsonite International (HKG:1910) reported $118.2 million in attributable profit for the half ended June 30, 30% lower than the $169.4 million reported in the year-ago period, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.
Shares of the travel bag company rose 6% in morning trade Wednesday.
Earnings per share was $0.085, compared with $0.115 in the prior year.
Revenue fell 6% year on year to $1.66 billion.
