JD.com (HKG:9618) plans to launch five large-format discount superstores across Zhuozhou in Hebei and Suqian in Jiangsu as part of its broader push into offline retail, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing confirmation from the company.
Confirming a media report, the e-commerce retailer told Reuters that the new outlets, including a 5,000-square-meter store in Zhuozhou, will sell a wide range of consumer goods such as detergent and chocolate, with prices below prevailing market levels.
