0856 GMT - Leading robotaxi companies are likely to reach break-even points in user economies by end-2026, UBS analysts write in a note. They cite three factors behind this forecast: accelerating fleet deployment, rapid reduction in hardware costs and improving utilization. There are policies and regulations introduced to support robotaxi operations, and UBS analysts expect the expansion of operational areas to be a tailwind for leading players to scale. UBS names Pony AI as best positioned in terms of technological capability, while WeRide has made faster progress in overseas market expansion. The total addressable market for robotaxies is expected to reach $183 billion in China and $394 billion in international markets, excluding the U.S., by the late 2030s, UBS says.(jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
