Charter Communications Inc., through its Spectrum brand, has announced a significant expansion of its services to over 1,800 homes and small businesses in Hillsborough County, Florida. This expansion is part of Spectrum's ambitious $7 billion rural construction initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide by extending fiber-optic network infrastructure across the country. The initiative promises to add more than 100,000 miles of network infrastructure, ultimately delivering high-speed internet access to over 1.7 million new locations. The newly available services in the county include Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV, and Voice, with specific focus areas in Lithia, Plant City, and Wimauma. This expansion is expected to enhance connectivity for residents, facilitating remote work, access to healthcare, and more, while also supporting the local economy.
