Malaysia secures $700 million in digital investments from China 

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Reuters) - Malaysia has secured 2.97 billion ringgit ($702 million) in confirmed investments from leading Chinese technology companies, the digital ministry said on Wednesday.

The investing firms include Baidu, Tsing Digital, iSoftStone, Inspur Group, China Mobile International, and China Unicom, the ministry said in a statement.

The funds will be used to develop artificial intelligence capabilities and next-generation digital infrastructure, and will create 6,800 high-value digital jobs, the ministry said.
