Sprout Social Inc. has announced the acquisition of NewsWhip, a company specializing in AI-driven predictive intelligence. The acquisition, completed on July 29, 2025, was settled for $55 million in cash, with an additional potential of up to $10 million in performance-based cash earnouts over the next two years. This strategic move aims to integrate NewsWhip's real-time, actionable intelligence with Sprout Social's existing suite of solutions, enhancing the ability of brands and publishers to stay ahead of media trends and risks. Paul Quigley, co-founder and CEO of NewsWhip, will join Sprout Social as General Manager for Sprout's Listening business. Sprout Social plans to provide further details on the acquisition in their upcoming second-quarter earnings call.
