China Tobacco Enters Worldwide Distribution Agreement for Cigars; Shares Up 13%

China Tobacco International (HK) (HKG:6055) said it entered a worldwide distribution agreement with China Tobacco Sichuan Industrial, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Friday.

Shares of the tobacco company jumped nearly 13% in recent afternoon trade on Monday.

The company said its distribution agreement for the Great Wall cigars was extended from the original duty-free markets in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as the Chinese domestic duty-free market, to the global market.

The agreement excludes the Chinese Mainland region, the company said.
