Lyft (LYFT) said Friday it plans to collaborate with Benteler Mobility to launch autonomous shuttles on the Lyft network in 2026.
Under the agreement, Lyft said its rider network will feature autonomous options, with an initial US deployment of autonomous shuttles via its Holon subsidiary.
The partnership will enable Lyft to benefit from Benteler's autonomous vehicle fleet lifecycle management services, expected to facilitate faster AV implementations while lowering time and cost to market, the company said.
The ride-hailing company also said it will enter a partnership with Benteler's subsidiary Beneteler Trading International for vehicle ownership and financing.
