NXP Semiconductors Seen Turning a Corner Toward Continued Improvement -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 23

1429 ET - NXP Semiconductors' latest results, above Wall Street's estimates, show the company has turned a corner and is set for further recovery ahead, Deutsche Bank analysts say in a note. The analysts say they remain impressed by NXP's steady performance through the recent elongated semiconductor downcycle, "and believe the structural improvements demonstrated during that period will continue in the emerging upcycle (between margins, solid rev growth etc.)," they say. The company's expectations for a "seasonal" 4Q, or relatively flat growth, is likely nothing more than conservatism, but could disappoint investors who hoped for more abrupt improvement, the analysts say.
