SS Innovations International (SSII) said Tuesday that its chief executive officer, Sudhir Srivastava, performed what the company called the first intercontinental remote robotic cardiac surgery with its SSi Mantra 3 system.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, involved a surgeon in France remotely operating on a patient in India and was completed without reported technical issues, the company said.
The surgery was supported by local medical personnel at the patient site in Indore and monitored during a robotic surgery conference, the company said.
Shares of the company were up more than 2% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
