Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Rise Tuesday Afternoon

Health care stocks rose Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) each advancing about 1.5%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 2.4%.

In corporate news, AstraZeneca (AZN) shares rose 2.3% after the company said it plans to invest $50 billion in the US by 2030, including a new manufacturing facility in Virginia.

IQVIA (IQV) shares jumped 18% after it reported higher Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Sanofi (SNY) added 1.4% after the drugmaker said Beyfortus for respiratory syncytial virus prevention in infants met both of its primary endpoints in its largest US real-world study.
