Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a leader in satellite networking technology, has secured approximately $60 million in contracts to enhance digital inclusion in Peru. The company's Peruvian subsidiary, Gilat Perú, will upgrade the Regional Broadband infrastructure in the regions of Apurímac, Huancavelica, and Ayacucho. This initiative, in collaboration with Peru's national telecommunications program, Pronatel, aims to deliver 200 Mbps internet to nearly 800 public institutions, including schools, health centers, and police stations across 280 localities. The project, expected to unfold over the next 12 months with services extending over four years, represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in rural Peru, providing crucial connectivity for education, healthcare, and public services.
