New Vietnam Tariffs Will Squeeze Deckers' Margins -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Jul 17
1345 ET - Williams Trading says that a new 20% tariff on goods produced in Vietnam, which is set to go into effect on Aug. 1, has the potential to impact margins at footwear company Deckers. Analyst Sam Poser trims his EPS estimate on the expected hit. He believes the company can mitigate some tariffs, as it has said it plans to raise prices and get lower costs from factory partners. It also has a scarcity model on its Hoka and Ugg footwear brands that should continue to drive strong sales trends, Poser says. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
