The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 crept up to new record highs on Tuesday on the back of gains in Nvidia, while investors assessed a largely in-line inflation report and bank results that kicked off the second-quarter earnings season. .N

At 11:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.53% at 44,222.49. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.06% at 6,272.44, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.75% at 20,794.08.
