Tripadvisor's Viator Faces Rising Competition -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 15

1848 ET - Tripadvisor's tour and activities bookings site Viator may see its pace market share gains slow as competition heats up, BofA Securities analysts say in a note. Emerging players in the space include Airbnb, which relaunched its Experiences offering, as well as Booking.com and regional travel sites GetYourGuide and Klook. Such competitors may pressure Viator's roughly 5.6% market share, with the analysts estimating modest gains or losses of 0.1% going forward. With Viator's revenue and margin growth both key drivers for shares, the analysts reinstate coverage of the stock at neutral with a price target of $19. Shares close up less than 1% at $18.16.
