July 11 - (The Insurer) - Bermudian carrier James River has hired Valdean Langenburg from WR Berkley as group chief information officer and promoted Justin Zaharris to group chief claims officer.

Langenburg is succeeding Thomas Peach, who retired on July 4 after spending more than four decades in information technology, including six years as CIO at James River.

Langenburg was previously leading the information technology strategy for WR Berkley's excess and surplus lines segment.

In his new role, he will be based in Richmond, Virginia and report to CEO Frank D’Orazio.

Zaharris, who has 20 years of experience across the P&C industry, was previously the vice president of James River and was supervising claims for excess and surplus lines segment.

He will continue to work from Richmond office and report to D’Orazio.
