Astronics acquired Envoy Aerospace, a Federal Aviation Administration organizational designation authorization services provider, for around $8 million.

The East Aurora, N.Y., company said Tuesday it will add nine Envoy employees and expects the deal will improve its aircraft connectivity, in-seat power and cabin modifications offerings.

Envoy's organizational designation authorization services, which streamline certain approvals and certificates with the FAA, will help Astronics capitalize on pent-up demand for aircraft modifications, it said.
