Southern Palladium (ASX:SPD) said the objection period has ended following the recent granting of environmental authorization for its mining right and related infrastructure development at the Bengwenyama platinum group metals project in South Africa, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company confirmed that no objections were filed during the objection period.
The authorization was issued by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources to the company's 70%-owned unit, Miracle Upon Miracle Investments, under the National Environmental Management Act, 1998.
The company said its next step would be securing a mining right for the project's development.
The company's shares rose 3% on market close.
