July 2 - (The Insurer) - Salvatore Sama has been appointed head of QBE Re North America.
New York-based Sama, who announced his new role on LinkedIn, has been with QBE Re since April 2021.
He most recently served as global head of casualty for a year and a half, after previously holding the role of head of North America casualty and finpro.
Before joining QBE Re, Sama was at Swiss Re for 10 years, including as head of the U.S. professional lines desk. He has also worked at AIG, Lazard Asset Management, JP Morgan, Bear Sterns, Ace and Marsh.
