ICICI Bank (NSE:ICICIBANK, BOM:532174) has received board approval to acquire up to 2 % additional shareholding in its subsidiary ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company, according to a Friday filing with the Indian stock exchanges.
The acquisition is aimed at maintaining the bank's majority shareholding in the event of the grant of stock-based compensation by the company.
The transaction is subject to receipt of requisite approvals.
The lender's shares were up 1% in recent trade.
