1431 ET - Forward Air has successfully managed the risks that came from its acquisition of Omni Logistics, according to Stifel, which upgrades shares to buy from hold. The trucking company's new management team has mitigated customer attrition, laid a credible go-forward strategy and made significant progress on integrating the acquired company, say the analysts in a research report. "We believe an eventual cycle inflection would help drive multiple normalization toward LTL and non-asset-based peers," they say. They add that recent developments suggest heightened potential for a takeout, likely a take-private, which could be in the low to mid $30s share price range with details as soon as 2Q earnings print. Forward Air surges 8.4% to $24.35.(denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
