Sector Update: Financial Stocks Steady Pre-Bell Monday

Financial stocks were steady pre-bell Monday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) inactive recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.1% higher.

Fiserv (FI) shares were up more than 5% after the company said it plans to roll out a new Fiserv digital asset platform, including a new stablecoin that will be added to the company's current banking and payments infrastructure by the end of 2025.

Bank of New York Mellon (BK) recently approached Northern Trust (NTRS) to express interest in a potential merger between the companies, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Shares of Northern Trust were up more than 6% premarket.

FactSet Research Systems (FDS) shares were up more than 1% even after the company reported lower fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue.
