0720 ET - McCormick & Company is set to release its F2Q results on Thursday, amid what UBS analysts call a challenging earnings season for packaged food companies. "We would therefore not be surprised if an in-line F2Q print and simply maintaining the low end of the EPS range is viewed as enough," the analysts say in a research note. A cut to McCormick's EPS outlook, though, would likely be viewed as disappointing. During the call, investors will be looking for insights on consumer sentiment and tariff impacts. Given timing, the analysts don't expect the maker of spices and flavorings to report a meaningful tariff impact in the recent quarter. However, they estimate tariffs could result in a $150 million gross, unmitigated headwind on an annualized basis.(connor.hart@wsj.com)
