Humana Inc. has announced an expansion of its science-based targets with a new goal approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The updated target focuses on reducing emissions from investments and lending activities, aligning the company's financial strategies with its operational impact. Humana aims to have 67.3% of its listed equity and corporate bond portfolio set SBTi-validated targets by 2029, based on a 2022 base year. This complements existing commitments to reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods, services, and upstream transportation by 30% by 2032. These actions are part of Humana's broader strategy to address indirect greenhouse gas emissions and enhance its environmental, social, and governance $(ESG)$ efforts.
