MTU Aero Engines AG has announced a record-breaking achievement at the 2025 Paris Air Show, securing engine orders valued at approximately $1.75 billion. This milestone marks the highest order intake in the company's history at a trade fair. CEO Lars Wagner highlighted the significance of this success, attributing it to MTU's forward-looking engine portfolio and the market's confidence in geared turbofan technology. The majority of orders were for the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine, particularly for the A320neo family, with major orders from Wizz Air and Frontier Airlines. Additionally, the PW1500G GTF model, used for the Airbus A220, attracted significant interest, with Polish airline LOT ordering 40 A220 aircraft. The V2500 engine will power another KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft ordered by Portugal.
