0932 ET - Groupe Dynamite brands continue to resonate with consumers despite price increases taken to offset margin pressures from tariffs, Stifel analyst Martin Landry says in a report. The clothing retailer had 1Q year-over-year comparable store sales growth of 13%, well above analyst estimates of 6%. Landry notes the increase was roughly evenly split between higher traffic and higher average unit retail, which Groupe Dynamite was able to achieve despite the higher costs associated with tariffs. The results prompted a 19% surge in the stock, but it's still 7% below its IPO price. These victories should help build sentiment, Landry says, "as Groupe Dynamite continues to build its track record as a public company with results above expectations." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
