Broad Market Indicators

Broad-market exchange-traded fund IWM declined, and IVV rose on Thursday afternoon. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was up 0.2%.

US equity indexes traded higher while most government bond yields slumped with the dollar as the producer price inflation for May failed to show substantial evidence that tariffs are lifting price pressures just yet.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) and the Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) both rose 0.2%.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rose 1.1%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) advanced as well.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) added 0.1%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) rose 0.4%.

Financial

Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) moved 0.3% lower. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) edged down 1%, and its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), gained 0.8%.

Commodities

Crude oil lost 0.3%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) rose 0.2%. Natural gas shed 0.1%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) added 0.1%.

Gold was up 1.9% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) rose 1.2%. Silver fractionally higher, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) increased less than 0.1%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) fell 0.1%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and the iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) were mixed, with the latter moving slightly ahead.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) dipped 0.3%; VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) was down 0.1%, while SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) lost 1%.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) was up 0.4%. iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) also edged higher. iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 0.6%.

Industrial

Industrial Select Sector SPDR (XLI) was 0.3% down. Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) were also in the red.
