XPeng is developing a chip which will be integrated into some Volkswagen cars to be launched in China as early as 2026, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing founder and chief executive officer He Xiaopeng.
Both XPeng and Volkswagen are jointly developing two VW mid-class cars, the report said, citing a spokesperson for the German auto brand in China.
The carmaker is also looking to offer the Turing AI chips to other auto competitors and is looking to forge long-term partnerships, the report said, citing He.
