Toho's (TYO:8142) group sales revenue rose 6.3% year-on-year in May, excluding the impact of its exited food supermarket business. Including that segment, sales rose 3%, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Sales in the Distributor (DTB) business grew 6.4% from a year earlier, driven by continued strength in domestic foodservice demand and inbound tourism.

Cash & Carry (C&C) business sales climbed 4.9%, despite the closure of one store. On a same-store basis, growth matched the headline pace.

The Food Solutions (FSL) segment rose 10.6% on increased project completions by construction-related firms and steady sales of business support systems.

TOHO operated 94 C&C stores as of May-end, down by one from a year earlier.
