Zhejiang Fulai New Material (SHA:605488) kicked off its second-generation electronic skin for robots, Yicai Global reported June 6, citing a statement from the company.
The electronic skin, or tactile sensing system, was placed on the tips of a robot's dexterous fingers at the Chinese multifunctional coating composite film manufacturer's factory in Jiashan, Zhejiang Province, China, the report said.
The technology will provide multiple dimensions of force and temperature perceptions to the robot through touch, the report said.
The company's shares jumped 6% in recent trade.
