JD.com (HKG:9618) is offering salaries up to three times the industry average to recruit top travel and hospitality talent as it ramps up efforts to challenge Meituan's (HKG:3690) dominance in the tourism sector, YiCai Global reported Tuesday, citing The Paper.
The e-commerce giant is hiring product managers, system architects, and airline operations experts with monthly pay ranging from 50,000 yuan to 70,000 yuan, according to listings on the Boss recruitment platform, the report said, adding that candidates with prior experience at Trip.com (HKG:9961) or Meituan are preferred.
JD.com has quietly launched a "lifestyle and travel" section on its app, offering hotel, train, and air bookings, along with discounts and incentives tied to its food delivery services, Yicai wrote.
