Consumer stocks were declining pre-bell Thursday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was 0.01% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) was recently down 0.6%.
GameStop (GME) shares fell by nearly 17% after the company said it plans to offer $1.75 billion of convertible senior notes due 2032 to institutional buyers.
Oxford Industries (OXM) shares were down more than 9% after the company reported lower fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and net sales and cut its fiscal 2025 guidance.
Calavo Growers (CVGW) shares were advancing nearly 13% after the company said it received a non-binding proposal to acquire all of its outstanding shares at $32 per share.
