U.S. Natural Gas Futures Settle Lower -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
11 Jun

1526 ET - U.S. natural gas futures fall for a second day as near-term weather forecasts remain cool for the season, which is likely to contribute to further large weekly inventory builds. The EIA in its monthly outlook estimates that natural gas for power-generation will average 38.4 billion cubic feet a day in June, up 26% from May, but that the power sector will consume 3% less natural gas over the summer than it did last year given the expectation of higher gas prices and more available renewable energy. Nymex natural gas settles down 2.8% at $3.533/mmBtu. (anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
