RenaissanceRe names Shea as president of US operations

June 9 - (The Insurer) - RenaissanceRe unveiled several appointments on Monday across its U.S. and international underwriting teams.

These included the promotion of RJ Shea to president of Renaissance Reinsurance U.S. Inc.

Shea will be responsible for leading RenRe's underwriting activities, client and broker engagement, and deal execution in the U.S. market.

Shea most recently served as global head of credit. He is succeeded by Mehdi Benleulmi, formerly head of credit for Europe, who is based in Zurich.

Elsewhere, Adriana Nivia has been promoted to managing director for North America, responsible for overseeing critical operating activities across the region.

Nivia most recently served as chief financial officer and treasurer at Renaissance Reinsurance U.S. Inc.

In the global underwriting team, Jim Riley has been promoted to global head of casualty. He will be responsible for setting and executing RenRe's global casualty (re)insurance strategy across.

Based in Bermuda, Riley most recently spent almost four years as head of casualty for Bermuda and global head of cyber.
