Conglomerate HD Hyundai (KRX:267250) is in talks to acquire the Vietnamese subsidiary of Doosan Enerbility for under 400 billion won, Chosun Biz reported Thursday, citing industry sources.

Established in 2006, Doosan Vina is mainly engaged in coal-fired power plant boilers, the report said.

The sale is reportedly part of Doosan's restructuring plan to focus on its future growth areas of nuclear power, small modular reactors, and gas turbines.

"We are reviewing the sale of Doosan Vina and other matters, but nothing has been finalized," a Doosan Enerbility representative reportedly said.

HD Hyundai did not immediately respond to a request from MT Newswires for comment.

Shares of HD Hyundai rose more than 1% at market close on Monday.
