Almonty Industries (ASX:AII) said it received a letter from US Representative John Moolenaar underscoring the firm's strategic importance to the US, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Moolenaar is the chairman of the US House Select Committee on the strategic competition between the US and the Chinese Communist Party.
The committee acknowledged the significance of the firm's Sangdong tungsten mine in South Korea as well as its planned redomiciling to the US.
The committee expressed interest in ongoing engagement with the firm, regarding potential collaboration, including supply chain integration with US defense contractors and potential additions to the National Defense Stockpile.
