Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) received Conformité Européenne (CE) certification for its Galaxy Watch sleep apnea detection feature, making it available in 70 markets, including 34 European countries, the electronics manufacturer said in a Friday release.
A CE certification indicates a product complies with the essential requirements related to health, safety, environmental protection, and consumer protection of the European Union.
The sleep apnea detection feature, classified as a software-based mobile health app, uses the watch's BioActive sensor to measure blood oxygen levels during sleep and detect signs of obstructive sleep apnea, the release said.
The feature is aimed at adults over 22 years of age. It analyzes data from at least two four-hour sleep sessions over 10 days, it said.
