Ameresco Inc., a leading energy solutions provider, has announced the completion of a significant solar canopy project at the City of Pendleton's Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Facility in Oregon. The 240 kW solar canopy is expected to generate 325,000 kWh of electricity annually, offsetting 30% of the facility's energy use. This project, part of a broader initiative to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint, was delivered through an Energy Savings Performance Contract with Ameresco. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled for June 11, 2025, will feature brief remarks from city officials and a tour of the solar installation. Future plans for the facility include the addition of a battery energy storage system to further improve energy management.
