Exclusive: Conduit Re bolsters marine and energy with Hamilton Re's Frawley

By Michael Jones

June 6 - (The Insurer) - Conduit Re has strengthened its marine and energy reinsurance team with the hire of Hamilton Re's David Frawley, three senior marine reinsurance market sources told The Insurer.

The sources said that Frawley will take up a marine and energy reinsurance role at the Bermuda-based carrier. One of the sources said that Frawley will act as deputy to Conduit Re's head of specialty Marc Bearman.

Bermuda-based Frawley spent four years at Hamilton Re, latterly as vice president, specialty reinsurance.

He previously held underwriting roles at Lancashire, Allied World, Alterra Capital and Max Re.

Frawley's departure is the second senior reinsurance exit for Hamilton in 2025, after treaty head Neil Lee-Amies moved to Aon in January.

One senior marine reinsurance source said they believed the volume of moves in the market in recent months reflected carriers increasingly leaning into the class. On Friday, this publication exclusively reported that Chubb Tempest Re's James Spencer has resigned from the firm to take up a position at Axis Re.

Conduit Re and Hamilton declined to comment.
