0826 ET - Burger King is still in turnaround mode in the U.S., owner Restaurant Brands International says at an investor conference Thursday, with about half of its domestic locations remodeled. Franchisee cash flow for U.S. Burger King averages around $130,000 per location, while the fast-food owner aims for $300,000 averages at its brands. "That doesn't work. That's just not a sustainable model," company chairman Patrick Doyle says. The company is subsidizing Burger King remodels and spending on advertising to try and boost the burger brand's profitability. (heather.haddon@wsj.com; @heatherhaddon)
