Consumer Stocks Were Split on Tuesday -- Consumer Roundup

Consumer-focused stocks had a mixed session on Tuesday, as consumer-staples firms edged lower while sellers of discretionary goods and services climbed.

Dollar General beat quarterly sales and earnings estimates in results out Tuesday morning. The stock notched strong gains.

Peloton Interactive said it will launch a marketplace where fitness fanatics can buy and sell the exercise-equipment company's used gear. Shares rose.
